Models with GPIB Type XA are required for attaching NI hardware to GPIB interfaces installed in computers with recessed back panels. To connect two GPIB cables so they are oriented in the opposite direction, you can use models with GPIB Type XE and XF. XF models are narrower than XE models, and they can turn 180 degrees from normal. Models with GPIB Type XC and XD are GPIB bulkhead adapters, while models without a GPIB Type are an 8-port GPIB strip.
